Leury Gomez struck out 10 batters as the starting pitcher led Clementes past Silver Bullets 6-1 on Thursday at Laytonia Park. Gomez surrendered five hits and zero runs over seven innings while walking two.

Clementes got on the board in the top of the first inning after Vince Palmer singled, Duany Hiciano singled, and , each scoring one run.

A fly out by Cabezon Montes extended the Clementes lead to 4-0 in the top of the third inning.

Tom Ramsay took the loss for Silver Bullets. The pitcher went four innings, surrendering two runs on three hits, striking out two and walking two. Samil Vizcaino appeared in relief for Clementes.

Clementes tallied nine hits in the game. Montes provided pop in the middle of the lineup, and led Clementes with two runs batted in. The right-handed hitter went 2-for-4 on the day. MontesSteven Rodriguez, and Hiciano each collected two hits for Clementes. Jake Whitlinger stole three bases. Clementes stole five bases in the game. Clementes turned one double play in the game.

Clementes play at home on Saturday against Tren del Norte in their next game.
