Clementes outsted Tren del Norte 7-4 on Saturday at Prince William Stadium.
Clementes got on the board in the top of the first inning after Mark Theberg singled, and David Flores was struck by a pitch, each scoring one run. Tren del Norte took the lead, 4-2, in the bottom of the third. Hector Lopez Reyes grounded out, which helped Clementes tie the game at four in the top of the sixth.
Clementes captured the lead, 7-4, in the top of the seventh after Tren del Norte-committed an error, and Jake Marshall tripled, each scoring one run.
Chase Preston earned the win for Clementes. The pitcher allowed two hits and zero runs over six and one-third innings, striking out five and walking none. Alex Cruz-Taylor opened the game for Clementes. The pitcher gave up three hits and four runs over two and two-thirds innings, striking out four and walking three.
Flores, Cabezon Montes, Marshall, and Bayo Ramirez each drove in one run for Clementes. Theberg went 2-for-4 at the plate to lead Clementes in hits. Clementeshad patience at the plate, collecting eight walks for the game. Chaneke Montes and Cruz-Taylor led the team with two free passes each. Flores, Cruz-Taylor, and Theberg each stole multiple bases for Clementes. Clementes stole nine bases in the game. Clementes turned two double plays in the game.
Clementes will travel to Bison for their next game on Tuesday.
