Clementes outsted Navigators 7-3 on Thursday at Wheaton Regional Park. The Clementes jumped out to the lead in the top of the second inning after Jake Marshall singled, scoring one run, Tom Buckmam singled, scoring one run, and Osvaldo Oquel homered, scoring three runs.
Cabezon Montes opened the game for Clementes. The right-handed pitcher surrendered one hit and zero runs over two innings, striking out none and walking one. Dylan Heil, Leury Gomez, and Steven Rodriguez each came on in relief for Clementes and shutdown Navigators.
Clementes collected 12 hits in the game. Oquel, the number eight hitter for Clementes, led the way with three runs batted in. The outfielder went 2-for-3 on the day. Vince Palmer, Marshall, Oquel, and Buckmam each collected two hits for Clementes. Palmer stole three bases. Clementes stole five bases in the game. Clementes were sure-handed and didn’t commit a single error. Chaneke Montes made the most plays with nine.
Clementes play at home on Sunday against Vandals in their next game.
