Clementes won big over Tren del Norte 9-2 on Saturday at Lake Braddock HS. The Clementes got on the board in the bottom of the first inning after Bayo Ramirez doubled down the left field line, Duany Hiciano singled to center field, Jake Marshall doubled to center field, and Jim Whitlinger walked, each scoring one run.

Clementes added one run in the second after Steven Rodriguez grounded out.

Clementes added two runs in the third. Whitlinger grounded out, making the score 7-0.

Chase Preston earned the win for Clementes. The pitcher gave up zero hits and zero runs over six innings, striking out eight and walking two. Jimmi Rodriguez took the loss for Tren del Norte. The starter went two innings, surrendering seven runs on four hits, striking out three and walking four. Easton Kite and Alex Cruz-Tayloreach appeared in relief for Clementes.

Clementes amassed 11 hits in the game. Whitlinger led Clementes with two runs batted in from the number seven spot in the lineup.  David FloresMarshall, and Hiciano each collected two hits for Clementes. Clementes had a strong eye at the plate, collecting seven walks for the game. Whitlinger and Marshall led the team with two walks each. Flores stole two bases. Clementes ran wild on the base paths, piling up six stolen bases for the game. Clementes turned one double play in the game. Clementes were sure-handed in the field and didn’t commit a single error. Marshall had the most chances in the field with 11.
