The Potomac Clementes kicked off the 2026 season with a fundamentally sound win over the Alexandria A’s. after falling behind on two jam shots in the 1st, starter Leury Gomez #16, locked down the next two innings without giving up another run. Leury was followed on the mound by Hector Lopez-Reyes #6 and Alex Cruz #20 with two well-pitched innings each. The only additional run being scored via an error in the top of the 5th. Samil Vizcaino #26 closed down the last two inning giving up two earned runs.
The Offense capitalized on a few errors committed by the A’s and a sharp single by Jake Whitlinger #1. three more runs were scored in the 6th and four more in 8th off of a triple from Janior Montez Jr #86. and Jake Whitlinger.
The final score was 10-4 with the Clementes racking up 10 hits to the A’s 5 hits. The Clementes also reached base 6 times via the error and 4 walks.
