The Potomac Clementes are moving to a new league for the 2025 season. After spending their first 11 years as members of the NOVA Industrial Baseball League (IBL), the Clementes are on the move to the DC Wood Bat. The move comes as Clemente leadership are seeking to expand their field of competition, and they are excited to be in a larger league. The DC Wood Bat League currently sits at eight teams, with the addition of the Clementes bringing it to nine.
The Clementes will be competing out of the Capital Division along side the Arlington Mallards (2024 DC Wood champions), DMV Vandals, and Arlington Silver Bullets. Their season consists of 23 regular season games with 3 playoff rounds featuring a 3-game series apiece.
Previous Clemente seasons consisted of between 12 and 15 regular season games, rotating between three other teams in the Industrial League. Out of the 11 seasons spent in the IBL, the team won seven championships, including a streak as reigning Champions from 2019-2023.
The Potomac Clementes are excited for the new season with DC Wood Bat, and look forward to working towards a successful post-season in their new League. The first game of the 2025 season is March 23rd at Washington Nationals Academy against the Arlington Mallards.
